Green Bohemia is 5!!! That’s right, Manchester finest original music night has been going for 5 years! It has been a fantastic journey, that has seen a huge number of great and diverse artists play in the intimate surroundings of greenroom’s Mezzanine balcony, from Karima Francis to Kid British to Whisky Cats and hundreds more! Green Bohemia has also hosted some of its most exciting shows as part of Manchester’s In The City and Futuresonic Festivals. So what have we got lined up for the big 5 year anniversary celebrations?
Well, as 5 years is a bit of a landmark, we are really pushing the boat out this time. As well as a jaw-dropping line-up of artists performing on the mezzanine balcony, we’re opening up the doors to greenroom’s theatre too for a very special one-night-only performance of The Tale of Club Vaudeville – A Musical. The musical is a 90 minute performance written and acted out by some of Green Bohemia’s great friends, including Thingumabob & The Thingumajigs, Aidan Smith and Dr Butler’s Hatstand Medicine Band . The group debuted the musical at last year’s MAPS Festival to a packed house at Moho Live. Now an extended version with extra songs is back specially for Green Bohemia’s 5th Birthday. The Tale of Club Vaudeville – A Musical is a joyful mix of live music, dance and comedy.
The venue bar opens at 5pm, and the musical is from 5.30pm until 7.15pm. As soon as this finishes, the live music starts on the mezzanine balcony, (entrance to this part is free to all). To celebrate our 5th Birthday, we have a very special line-up of artists, including The Jessie Rose Trip, who were In The City 2008’s most talked about act – and for good reason! Dr Butler’s Hatstand Medicine Band perform a very special amped-up set, plus our great friends Thingumabob & The Thingumajigs will round off the night with one of their incredibly entertaining live sets. There will also be live sets from fantastic newcomers Walton Hesse, plus the amazing Kamal Arafa and The Moonlight band! Please arrive early as we are expecting a very busy one!!
