Method Lab returns for a two day showcase of Manchester’s new crop of boundary pushers, experimentalists and future heroes. A chance to see work that will shape future performances in Manchester and beyond.

Method Lab seeks to nurture and support artists as they first emerge into public performance. The aim of the lab is to offer physical and intellectual for emergent artists to develop their work in a supportive environment.

Artists receive a package of support including a small commission, rehearsal space, mentoring, peer support and access to technical resources in order to present the developed piece at the Method Lab showcase in April. Artists are selected through the emergency platform, and must present work at emergency to be eligible for Method Lab selection.

This years Method Lab artists, selected from greenroom’s emergency platform event in 2007 are:

Chris Fitzsimmons who thinks he knows who he is because he remembers who he was. He understands why he likes the things he likes (men) and why he hates the things he hates (men) but is uncertain of what comes in-between… (men?)

Krissi Musiol urging you along to an all singing, all dancing, all gambling Crap Cabaret!

Nic Green (apple) and Laura Bradshaw (pear) come together with the local women of Manchester for ‘Part One’, the first installment of an exciting new performance trilogy. An epic new three-part theatre show celebrating the female form, what it means to be an individual, dynamic woman, and to feel empowered and allowed to be that.

Sam Rose invites you to a playful, seductive, and at times a melancholic, multi-sensorial one to one performance that explores the transient nature of experience, and the moment.*

Plus guest artist Sinead King presents Connection: One girl, alone in a bar attempting to make a connection with you. Love, intimacy, sex, marriage…it’s all covered. This is not stand up, this is art.

* One-to-one performances by Sam Rose (at various times from 6pm) need to be booked in advance. There are limited spaces, so early booking is strongly advised as they will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Please note both days of Method Lab feature the same performances.

Please note that some performances contain strong language and full female nudity.
