greenroom continues its exploration of the exhilarating Indian dance form of Bharatanatyam. In this solo performance, premiered at the Royal Opera House to a sold out audience, internationally accomplished Seeta Patel guides us through a fantasy world of the sacred female and explores the complex nuances of desire. Through 18th century music scores she challenges our perception of time to channel the love poems of the past, making them live in the present.
With live musical accompaniment, choreography by Mavin Khoo and lead vocals by the inspirational Pushkala Gopal, this is a much anticipated tour by one of the most exciting talents in the British Asian dance scene.
“The style and grace of a dancer who has not only intelligence but an uncompromising devotion to the form. Her presence lights up the space, and her musicality is faultless.” Morag Deyes MBE
