The Comedy Store’s resident sketch-team, Slaughterhouse Live showcase their brilliant and hilarious short films plus a trove of new unscreened material. An un-missable and genuinely hilarious cinematic experience.
Sit back with a glass of wine or an ice cream and enjoy the following features:
Truth Prism ![]()
A spoof documentary chronicling the lives of two men who each believe they are the only sufferer of the rare spatial reasoning syndrome, Paralaxical Appendage Disorder. Providing a hilarious insight into their lives Truth Prism reveals the hysterical and, of course, horrifying events which unfurl when these two people eventually meet each other. Guaranteed laugh-out-loud stuff.
“The highlight for me was the short film…it relates the trials of a young man suffering from a condition that means he can’t correctly judge the length of his own arms. I’ll say no more in the hope that you get to see it yourself. It’s prize winning comedy and there’s a reason, go and see them.” BBCi
“…a documentary about a man inflicted with a condition in which he thinks his arms are longer than they are is as funny as it is inventive.” Chortle
The Fleetwood Twatter ![]()
Unsung 1940s boxing legend, Hilary Proctor (The Fleetwood Twatter) is the only fighter to have won four belts in four hours and to have knocked out the Selby Toucher and the Bispham Alarmer in the same bout. But when he walked away from boxing 50 years ago why did his one true love disappear? And why, after all these years, is the Pink Pounder (his only opponent to go the full 12 rounds) demanding a rematch…? Now 80 years old and with nothing left to lose The Fleetwood Twatter is preparing for the fight of his life…
“Surely this is what BBC3 was made for - someone give these guys a TV contract. I suggest that you sell everything that you own to see them.” Liverpool Echo (May 08)
Quiz-steria! ![]()
Is there a God? Is Foucault’s notion of the body as a site for cultural resistance still relevant to today’s sexual politic? How many tits does a cat have? All these questions and more will be tackled by callers on this late night phone-in quiz show where players can win literally things.
“…the video interludes were brilliant and would put any BBC3 show to shame” Three Weeks (Brighton Fringe 08)
Where There’s A Will ![]()
When Kenneth Klapp is bequeathed a living, breathing, twelve-legged, feathery inheritance by his ’showbizzy’ (but now dead) uncle he discovers this more of a curse than a blessing…
“Often likened to the League of Gentlemen thanks to their bizarre characters and surreal streak, it’s a lazy comparison that doesn’t do this four-strong collective justice.” Edinburgh Evening News
The Undiscovered Limericks of Wilfred Owen
Few individuals captured the futility of war and the mindless brutality of conflict than First World War poet and second lieutenant, Wilfred Owen. However, few realise that Owen’s real gift was his ability to write saucy five-line corkers. This lost footage of Owen’s trench-bound recitals is shown here for the first time…
Also don’t miss Duncan Bannetyne’s Den, Little Bastards (described as The House of Tiny Tearaways meets Goodfellas) and much much more!
