For the past eight weeks now, a group of disparate, unconnected women have come together to share stories, chat, muse, and ponder about… well most things really.

The Art of Conversation

The Art of Conversation, greenroom’s unique participation project, led by associate artists, the all-female Pigeon Theatre, has focussed on the craft of female conversation. This year the project has been supported by Manchester City Council and marks the centenary of International Women’s Day, celebrating 100 years of women’s achievements. The weekly sessions have been aimed at getting women talking about how we communicate; the difference between ‘speaking’ and ‘conversing’, and how we adapt our conversation to suit different audiences.

The project culminates on the 12 May with one-off performances and happenings from the participants in various spaces around greenroom. You are invited to join the ‘chatty women’ and get a glimpse of the discussions that have been held over the duration of the project.

Communication is curious – female communication doubly so.

If there’s one thing we’ve learnt from this project, it’s that listening is the key to communication… make sure you keep an eye out (and an ear open) for events that could be happening around you all evening… we invite you to perfect the art of eves-dropping…
