Ida has now long been trying to charm her way through the pearly gates, while her name lived on in cabaret form. Like so many good things, even that came to an end. But just as we thought the Bucket had breathed its last…
Not so much rising from the grave, as stealing the flowers and kicking over the headstone; Ida may be dead but a mysterious benefactor has stepped forward to dishonour the family name and continue the shambling display of eclectic cabaret and out-there entertainment.
And so The Cabaret Formerly Known As Bucket will endeavour to bring you the good, the bad, the ugly, the indifferent and the androgynous, showcasing a range of performances from a range of performers.

The cabaret that was:
Born out of the Instant Winners 2006 Halloween event Who Killed Ida Bucket? an immersive anti glamour cabaret murder mystery extravaganza The Cabaret of Ida Bucket created a time and space for Manchester’s upcoming live art practitioners to rub shoulders with burlesque beauties and creepy characters.
Creating a positive environment for performers to take over the stage, the box office, even the broom cupboard, with original performances and works in progress.
Featuring a variety of professional actors, entertainers and fresh talent from Cheshire to North Yorkshire, posing as a motley crew of jaded artistes, tired gags and bitter showgirls, originally brought together under the directorship of Jonathan Richardson in a series of unique performance events, The Cabaret of Ida Bucket presented an experimental live art, performance and modern burlesque event.
