The End

This will be the last time I perform. This will be the last stage I stand on. This will be the last spotlight I stand in. This will be the last soundtrack I speak over. This will be the last microphone I speak into.

Inspired by the stage direction from The Winter’s Tale, ‘Exit pursued by a bear’, The End explores endings and exits and the re-enactment of real life events to investigate absence and loss. The End asks why we perform and how we will know when to stop and is Pinchbeck’s last piece for theatre.

Returning to greenroom following the hugely enjoyable The Post Show Party Show, Metro Boulot Dodo’s co founder, Michael Pinchbeck is an award winning writer, dramaturg and performance maker.

This performance will be followed by a Q&A.

Supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. Commissioned by Chester Performs and developed at The Junction (Cambridge), Brighton Dome and Festival, New Art Exchange (Nottingham) and Lakeside Arts Centre (Nottingham).

We Are Heroes Anonymous

It’s about soldiers, astronauts and superheroes. It’s about wanting to fly but not being able to. It’s about that person who held the door open for you. It’s about all the others that didn’t…

SeedFund is a series of micro-commissions – a first public airing for brand new works, sneak previews and genuine experiments.
