Agraman 1

Original founder of The Buzz Comedy Club, Agraman the human anagram (winner of the Les Dawson award in 2005 as a tribute for excellence in promoting live comedy) returns to compere at greenroom after nineteen years, bringing more preposterous puns and a celebratory selection of top notch comedy. Expect a night of outstanding comedy featuring favourite acts from shows at greenroom twenty years ago through to the rising comedy stars of 2008.

In 1989 John Marshall opened Manchester’s legendary comedy club The Buzz, at The Southern in Chorlton, compered by his alter ego ‘Agraman, the human anagram’. The Buzz kick-started the massive comedy scene in Manchester and became the longest-running comedy club outside London, and helped launch the careers of Steve Coogan, Caroline Aherne, Dave Spikey, Eddie Izzard, Bill Bailey, Lee Evans, Jack Dee, Harry Hill, Frank Skinner, Mark Thomas, Jo Brand, Alan Carr, Ross Noble, Jason Manford and Peter Kay (documented in his million-selling autobiography The Sound of Laughter.)

The comedy bill features…

Caimh McDonnell
Caimh McDonnell is a hilariously funny Irish raconteur, newly domiciled in Manchester. So it seems there’s more than one smooth, enjoyable Irish export with a distinctive white head. Armed with no gimmicks save for the Irish brogue that seems to suit the rhythms of stand-up so well, McDonnell’s warm, inclusive delivery naturally charms the audience.

Nathan Caton

Nathan Caton rising television star of his own new sketch show on Paramount Comedy, Caton is a slick performer whose delivery is both faultless and charismatic with an unbeatable stage attitude and the confident air of someone much more experienced.

Trevor Organ

Trevor Organ (Pete White) veteran street entertainer (expect ping pong balls, rich tea biscuits, and toilet roll!) gained some of his early training at greenroom, where he learnt physical comedy with Les Bubb and eccentric dance with Joan and Barry Grantham. Pete went on to perform many times at The Buzz Comedy Club in the 1990’s and has since been unstoppable as a cabaret artiste and street entertainer.

Also featuring Kevin Seisay, a dynamic and inspirational musician, returning to comedy by public demand. The Buzz Club Logo
