In the distance an explosion is heard. Perhaps a firework? Or an effigy of a half forgotten religious revolution made out of tyres and gas tanks? Either way it is ignored and drowned out by the screams of artists, performers and narcissists crying out LOOK AT ME! One of these points of focus is THURSDAY 25th of NOVEMBER in a little, misunderstood, partial lovable as it slaps you in the face event named VAUDEVILLE. VaudeVille, a cross breed of CABARET, VIDEO, ART and COBRA, delivers a selection of experimental and absurd work once again this month.
Reports have already come in from a few anonymous witness of a drudging queue of performers ready to smile, perform and frolic for the attention of a divided audience. Some of the faces spotted include that of improv poet CONOR A, musical musings emitting from the face of DAVE WILLIAMS, rants and houts from spoken word performer TAM HINTON, experimental video compilation from KLAUS-DIETER MICHEL as well as a few surprises performers shuffling in the background. Come and witness those spectacles, cries the bedraggled organiser, for £3! Yes, £3 he says to fill the financial cultural void created by a certain coalition.
Have a nice day.
…about VaudeVille
Drown your bitterness in the strong liquor of VaudeVille. This is new electronic art cabaret. Expect a selection of the best new performance, video & music from VaudeVille collaborators.
The ethos of VaudeVille is inspired by the original Cabaret Voltaire (circa 1913) – deliberately absurd performances, poetry, and visual art that embrace the extraordinary, the irrational, and the contradictory. If you want to see avant-garde original movies, a bicycle on fire or even a sock puppet version of A Streetcar Named Desire then VaudeVille is for you!
